Take Ten to Write

“Tiny Home”

Prompt: “A tiny doorway”

I’ve always been fascinated by tiny things. But not things that are naturally tiny. Things that are unnaturally tiny. Things like miniature figurines and miniature cooking utensils and miniature scenery.

It’s become a lifelong dream of mine, actually, to be tiny myself. Not like becoming a baby again; that would be weird and quite frankly, that sounds like a nightmare. (I like my adult independence, thank you very much.)

But would if I could be tiny? Like Alice, after she drinks that potion in Wonderland? Or is it when she eats the cake? I’m not picky; I would take a potion or a cake to be tiny. I would even eat a caterpillar if that’s what it took.

Anyway, the whole how of becoming tiny is a problem that I’ve been trying to solve for years now. But in the meantime, to give my brain the occasional break, I build my future house.

I’ve decided on a tree house. I’ve always wanted to live in a tree house, but they’re always flimsy and not very weatherproof and made for small children. I want my tree house to not only be resistant to all types of weather and natural disasters, but also be fit for the queen that I am.
