“It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.”

Robert H. Goddard

“NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE”

I stare up at the tall letters arching over the entrance to the tech fair, my heart pounding with excitement. I’ve wanted to attend one of the Quiggley Science and Technology Fairs since I was a child, and now that I’m finally here, I can barely contain myself.

It’s always been my dream to bring one of my inventions to the attention of Phineas, Jonas, and Logan Quiggley. I’ve been saving up for years to afford a ticket. Only this year could I finally afford it. Now, I’ll finally get my chance to show of my invention.

As I pass under the blinking neon lights, my eyes light up. Inventions are everywhere, whizzing through the sky, crawling on the ground, zooming across the field.

A tall, thin man approaches me with arms spread wide. “Welcome!” he exclaims. “Welcome to our annual Quiggley Science and Technology Fair! We have many marvelous exhibits on display here today. To your right, you will see the Wonders of the Sky, a demonstration of incredible machines that soar through the air. To your left, you will see the Secrets of the Sea, an exhibit for those with a desire to see the very depths of the oceans. And, straight in front of you, you will find the most well-known inventions of the Quiggley brothers! The brothers themselves will be having a meet-and-greet session in just ten minutes’ time, so hurry down to get a seat!”

I thank the man before sprinting to the Quiggley brothers’ tent. I burst inside, clutching my backpack tightly. While I don’t want to damage my precious invention, I can’t afford to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the Quiggley brothers themselves.

Final Comments: So I ran out of time at the end as you can probably tell… Surprisingly, I did have an ending for this one in mind, so I think I’ll just call it a cliffhanger…? I’ve got to say, though, that I do love the quote prompt.
