“She Fell Slowly”
Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!
Prompt: Write a story titled “She Fell Slowly”.
The ground had seemed so close when she’d started her descent, and yet, it felt like she was falling forever. The world spun around her as she spiraled downward.
Clouds. The clouds were fluffy. The clouds were white and pure. The clouds were moving further and further away.
The wind pushed her side, spinning her around. Facing downward, she could see the ground below.
Trees. The trees were green. The trees were leafy. The trees were getting closer… and closer… and closer…
And yet, they were still so far.
So far… yet so close.
Final Comments: My mind was all over the place… I had no idea what I was going to write about.
