Music prompt: “Final Stand” by Atom Music Audio

The wind whipped through her hair as she stood atop the mountain. Before her stood a sea of monsters, endless black dots on a formerly green plain. In the sky, a swarm of ships hovered, engines powered and prepared.

She knew they had no chance. Yet, as her grip tightened on her spear, the weight of her crown grew heavy on her head. She was their queen. She was their leader. And she would fight with them until the very end.

As her surveyed the battlefield, her heartbeat quickened. Her eyes searched for one figure in particular.

There. Between two darkwolves and astride a black steed. He sat, simply waiting for her to make the first move.

And he did. He lifted his own spear above his head and let loose a ferocious cry. She echoed after him, calling to her own army to arms.

At the exact midpoint on the field, the armies collided in a shower of sparks and blood.

Final Comments: I started writing this story feeling really good about it and then I ran out of ideas…
