“Plant Emotions”
This Take Ten to Write story was submitted by 12-year-old Mary. Happy reading!
Prompt: “Nature, like man, sometimes weeps from gladness.” — Benjamin Disraeli
Plants are beautiful. Plants do not show emotions, yet they have some, like when a plant or tree gets sun or water, it is happy.
Sad Plants
Lisa’s Cactus
When Lisa’s cactus got no water, it was sad.
Esme’s Mint
When Esme watered her mint plant, she didn’t water it enough and so it was sad.
Some plants are sad if they are not watered or don’t get sun-we just don’t realize it.
Happy and Sad
Coco’s Plant
When Coco dug up a plant, it was sad, but when she re-planted it somewhere else, it was happy.
Clara’s Tree
When Clara cut down a tree, it was sad.
