“Peaceful”
Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!
I’ve never seen something so peaceful before. But I guess that’s why this Dimension is called exactly that: the Peaceful Dimension.
Okay, well that’s not its actual name. The Dimension’s technical name is Yidillan Iowi Jidir, so understandably, we just call it by how we feel when we visit it.
I remember the first time Griffin brought me here. Since the Peaceful Dimension is the least dangerous, it’s also the first that any new member visits.
That day was so strange, so completely unbelievable. The shadows were alive. They had real power over people. They still do.
Sometimes it’s still hard to believe what my life is like today. Now that Griffin’s gone… I just don’t know what to do anymore, what to think. He was my mentor, my friend, but above all, my big brother.
Maybe I was drawn back to this Dimension today to feel close to him. Or maybe I just wanted a break from the craziness that’s back home.
I guess it doesn’t really matter what brought me here. I can still enjoy the peacefulness, can’t I?
“Hey, we think we found a new sixth,” Marie’s voice echoes in my mind.
My heart jumps. So soon after Griffin’s death?
“I’m coming,” I tell Marie, standing up.
I take one last look over my shoulder at the view before Walking back home.
Final Comments: This one was a lot of fun to write. (There’s going to be more of this in the future *hint hint*)
