“Orange Orangutan”

Write a story titled “Orange Orangutan”.

Orwell the Orange Orangutan loved all things orange.

He loved orange flowers.

He loved orange socks.

He loved orange fish.

He loved orange hats.

But there was one orange thing that Orwell couldn’t stand.

Oranges.

Orwell absolutely, positively hated oranges.

He hated the smell of oranges.

He hated the feel of oranges.

He hated the look of oranges.

He hated the taste of oranges.

At least, he thought he hated the taste of oranges. Orwell had never actually eaten an orange before, but he hated how the smelled and felt and looked so much that he decided that he must hate how they tasted too.

One day, Orwell was going for a walk when, to his great horror, he saw an orange tree.

Orwell knew that he had a duty to protect the world from these terrible oranges. He walked straight up to the orange tree and gave it a big kick.

Nothing happened.

Orwell took a deep breath and gave the tree an even bigger kick.

The oranges jiggled a bit on their stems, as if taunting Orwell.

Orwell let out a frustrated growl and gave the tree the biggest kick of all.

The oranges fell around him. It was like it was raining oranges!

Orwell gasped, and straight into his open mouth, fell an orange.

Without thinking, Orwell closed his mouth. The orange was crushed between his teeth.

The orange juice trickled into Orwell’s mouth as shock overcame him. He had just bitten into an orange!

But as he swallowed the juice, Orwell realized something.

Oranges were delicious!

Now, Orwell the Orange Orangutan loves orange flowers.

He loves orange socks.

He loves orange fish.

He loves orange hats.

But most of all, Orwell the Orange Orangutan loves oranges.

Final Comments: Writing kids stuff is so much fun; you can be as silly as you want! I think that Orwell’s would make much more sense in a picture book format… So maybe I’ll add pictures at some point…?
