It was a perfect day. The sun was shining down on each individual blade of grass, reflecting off the morning dewdrops. The white flowers dotted the field, breaking the greenness of the grass.

It was a perfect day. A perfect day to frolic and play. A perfect day to soak in the joys of life. A perfect day for new beginnings.

A perfect day for celebrations.

It so happened that such a celebration was already in full swing. The celebration of a new era. The celebration of a new life.

The celebration of the end.

For only with endings can there be beginnings. Only with death can there be life.

It was the King who had passed two days prior. The King of Glennendorf, the largest and most powerful region in all of Frennickfold.

With the passing of the King would come the occasion for a new Ruler to rise. A young girl, who was known simply as Fai.

She would be a fair Queen, the fairest in all of Frennickfold in fact. She would rule with a just hand, and would embody kindness and selflessness. She would bring peace back to the Eleven Kingdoms.

Or so the legend goes.

In reality, a much different story unfolded…

Final Comments: For the first time in a while, I actually had an idea right from the start with this prompt! Sure, the story didn’t finish how I expected it to, but that’s all part of the fun, right?
