“Did you know your finger looks like a little person if you lie right down on the sand?”

“Did you fall and hit your head?”

“No, I am lying down to observe my finger.”

Man, sometimes my little brother could be so weird. He was always doing crazy stuff like this. Climbing up trees to drop pinecones. Skipping stones on our front lawn. I don’t think he ever did things I did at his age.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it is great that he likes to spend so much time outdoors, but I just wish he would do things a little more normally.

“Sam! C’mon! Aren’t you going to look?”

I got down on the ground beside him and held out my hand like he did.

“Wow, I guess it does kind of look like a cheeto.”

He crawled over my back and towards our half started sandcastle.

“Okay, I am ready to start building again. Can we add some pinecones to the defences?”

“Sure” I reply. “We can even dig trenches around the castle, and put the pinecones inside.”

Summer was turning out okay, I guess.

Let me know your thoughts!
