“Mad for her”
This Take Ten to Write story was submitted by E. L. Stew. Happy reading!
He was completely mad for her. He loved her, more than she loved him. Sometimes, this thought comforted him, to know that nothing in the world could surpass how he felt about her.
He wasn’t able to sleep since she had told him what was in her heart. When they were on the phone, her sweet, soft voice, danced shimmering static. He was giddy, ecstatic. On the whole he was just overwhelmed. His palms would start sweating the moment he thought of her. He couldn’t wait to see her since they had spoken.
It felt like years had passed since she had hung up last night.
It was not yet four o’clock in the morning, and he had already walked to her home and back, twice. What would her parents say to such a sudden marriage. It didn’t matter, they would see how they both felt. They were in love. The burdens of his existence had been lifted since he had felt her love. He could sing to the little ducks swimming by on the canal. He wanted to kiss the old man setting up his newspaper stand in the dawn light. He was free. Wholly, and completely free.
Now, all he had to do was meet her.
