“Letter From A Friend”
Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!
Dear Maggie,
I don’t think you know who I am, In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t eve know that I exist. But I can promise you that I am indeed one hundred percent human.
You’re probably thinking that it’s strange that an unnamed classmate is writing you a letter, and you’re maybe even finding it creepy. Please read until the end of this letter before you pass judgemnt.
You see, I’ve seen you around. We’re actually in math class together, which is how I know just how smart you are.
But I know that you’re not just smart. You’re also the kindest person I’ve ever seen. No one in their right mind would stop form a roadblock to let a group of ducklings pass.
So, I’m writing you this letter to tell you that you’re an incredible person who deserves nothing but the best. You’re not alone, Maggie, I promise.
From your friend.
Final Comments: About halfway through, I forgot what I was supposed to be writing about…
