“Journey Across the Forever Sea”
Prompt: “Write a story from the perspective of a movie critic.” ~ E.L. Stew
Let me begin with a compliment: Never, in my forty-eight years of life, have I ever come across another film with this level of unoriginality. And yes, this is a compliment, as it takes something truly extraordinary for a film to stay in the depths of my mind for weeks on end, as it has taken me a grand total of five and a half weeks to gather the willpower to sit down and write this review.
Here, however, is where the compliments unfortunately end. As you might have gathered from my attempt at a compliment, I have very little to say in support of Journey Across the Forever Sea. It did feel, in fact, like a journey across the forever sea, simply meaning that the film seemed as though it would never end. And, in a sense, the film didn’t end, as the last scene allows the viewers a glimpse of the ship continuing to sail across the Forever Sea.
