“Jealous? Never.”

Prompt: Jealous.

I scowl as she giggles, pulling a strand of hair back behind her ear.

An elbow nudges me. I turn to see George standing beside me, his eyes trained on her and Oliver.

“You’re jealous, aren’t you?” he asks with a slight smirk.

My scowl deepens. “No. I just don’t think that she should be flirting while on the job.”

“Dude, the job’s done. We retrieved the Crown and restored power to the Queen. What else is there for us to do?”

“Well, first off, we need to get back home.”

George rolls his eyes. “That’s not a job. That’s just a fact.”

“Yeah, but we need to be prepared at all times in case something attacks us!”

George glances around us. “In case something attacks us? You mean right here, in the middle of this very obviously busy town that’s full of innocent villagers? What, do you think a giant, rabid bear is going to come crashing out of the forest?”

“Maybe!” I splutter. “All I’m saying is that we should be prepared at all times.”

George sighs. “Okay, I think you’ve been on this mission for far too long. When we get home, I’m booking you in for an hour-long massage, got it?”

“I don’t want a massage,” I mutter. I grit my teeth as she places a hand on Oliver’s chest. Oliver gives her that cocky grin that he loves to use on all the girls. Apparently, she’s going for it.

“Dude, you’re super tense,” George says, frowning at me. “Look, if you’re really that annoyed about how she’s acting with Oliver, maybe you should talk to her about it.”

I scoff. “Yeah, right, because talking solves everything.”

Final Comments: I kind of forgot that he was supposed to be watching the girl and Oliver throughout their conversation…
