Prompt: “Close your eyes…”
“Close your eyes…”
His whisper is a cold breath across my ear. His head dips and that coldness travels down to my neck.
“Don’t be afraid…”
He lingers there, his proximity raising goosebumps across my skin. His hand rests on my forehead, pushing away the strands of hair dripping in sweat.
“It’ll be over soon…”
He holds me still as another shock seizes my body. He draws closer, his lips just about touching my skin.
“I’m sorry…”
His teeth plunge into my neck, hooking beneath my skin as he drinks. He stays for only a moment before withdrawing. His breath fades from my neck, leaving behind a dull, throbbing pain.
He draws himself up. His red eyes match the blood dripping from his lips.
My eyes close.
