“It Isn’t Natural”

Prompt: Natural.
“It isn’t natural,” he whispers, shaking his head. “Why don’t they have feathers? And where are their second set of arms?”
I frown. “I’m not sure. More observations are necessary.”
“Maybe these ones are defective?”
“Maybe.”
“Or maybe they’re a different species?”
“A different species of what?”
“Of whatever these things are.”
“Well shouldn’t we try to figure that out first?”
“I guess so.”
I squint to make out the strange creatures. “How do they ever manage with just two arms?”
“Maybe it has something to do with their brains. They probably have brains the size of peas like neidlwicks.”
“Could be. Or maybe they just don’t have as much to do, so their second sets of arms have disappeared over generations.
