Prompt: Home.

I take a deep breath.

Today’s the day. I’m finally moving into my new home.

The moving truck has been dark and silent this entire time. I’ve been keeping hydrated, though, so the journey wasn’t too bad.

I feel the truck screech to a stop and I’m thrown forward slightly. The engine turns off and there’s a deafening silence before the slam of a door.

As we head inside, I look around in wonder. This place is so spacious. I can see that this is a family home, and judging from the pictures on the counters and walls, there are at least three children.

I’m so excited to meet them and play with them.

We stop in front of what must be my room. Bright light floods over me and I trot out into my new home.

This place is a city. The buildings are all joined by complex tunnels and I already know that I’m going to have so much fun exploring.

I take a moment and close my eyes, breathing in all the new scents. I pick up a whiff of food and a few friends.

I open my eyes to see a big face right in front of me. I jump back with a surprised squeak.

“Who are you?” he demands.

“My name is Sonny,” I say timidly. “I’m new here.”

“Yes, I can see that,” he mutters.

I pick up a soft chuckle and I turn to see a gorgeous female bouncing toward me. I think I might be in love.

“Oh, give him a break, Cyril,” she says, her eyes sparkling. Then, she turns to me and my heart flutters. “I’m Sugar and this is Cyril. Welcome to our little paradise!”

“Thanks,” I sigh, trying my best not to stare at her.

“Come on, I’ll give you a tour!” Sugar exclaims, bouncing away.

I follow her, glancing warily over my shoulder at Cyril glaring at me.

Sugar shows me everything in this city. There’s a restaurant and a water fountain and even a giant wheel!

When we stopped beside the wheel, Sugar warned me, “If Cyril is using it, you leave him be, you hear me? He needs his alone time sometimes.”

Other than Cyril, this place is extraordinary. I’m so glad that I get to call this place my home.

Final Comments: This one was so much fun! I don’t really have much else to say about it…
