Prompt: Fireworks.

I was literally just thinking about fireworks earlier today. I don’t usually look at the prompts for these stories until I write them, so this one gave me a bit of a laugh.

I usually play video games at night with my mom. Our two favourites for the past while have been Animal Crossing and Overcooked 2. Both are fantastic games–obviously, since we’ve been playing them non-stop–but they both also recently came out with new updates. We always love updates because there’s more content to play through, but both of these updates had something in common: fireworks.

In Animal Crossing, every Sunday night, there’s a huge fireworks show between 7 pm and midnight. It’s a super cute addition and the fireworks look so realistic.

The newest content in Overcooked 2 also happens to involve fireworks. But instead of the pretty, scenic show that you get in Animal Crossing, you get annoying bursts of fireworks that create little fires all over the place that make running around and trying to cook a complete disaster. I’ll admit that when I first saw the trailer for the new content, I was super excited for the fireworks. But when we actually got down to playing, I just started getting super annoyed. Still, it’s all in the fun of the game!

So, with that being said, I still can’t really figure out why fireworks are coming up so much right now. Is it a summer thing? I really don’t know…

Final Comments: Another rant… But honestly, if you do know why fireworks are such a big thing right now, please let me know…
