“Face-Off”

Prompt: Mask.

“Do you have the object?”

“Yes,” I reply.

I nod at my associate and she lifts the corner of the tarp behind us to reveal the object.

“Good,” he says.

He claps twice and two men in black come out of his truck and approach the tarp. I nod at my associate and she steps aside.

Once the object is safely secured in his truck, he extends a hand to me.

“As always, it was a pleasure doing business with you,” he says.

I take his hand and give him a firm handshake. I move to let go, but he holds on tight.

“I knew it,” he hisses, his eyes mere slits.

His fingernails dig into my arms as he yanks me forward to inspect my face.

“A Face-Off Mask,” he mutters.

He rips the mask off my face and I stare up at him with wide eyes.

After staring at me for a second, he begins laughing.

“Hah, a kid!” he snorts. “Do you take me for an idiot?”

He barks an order and his men exit the vehicle. I know that I look just like a pathetically terrified kid, trembling in his grasp.

His men come and grab my arms, pulling them roughly behind me. They hold my arms tightly, cutting off the circulation.

“Take him to the truck,” he snaps. “And find his associate. She must still be nearby.”

The men start dragging me away and a smirk forms on my face.

I tear my arms away from his men with a sudden force before whirling around and striking each of them down. Then, I go for him. After all, he’s the one I came for.

I have him down on the ground in no time. Now he’s the frightened one.

“Who are you?” he whispers as he cowers beneath me.

I pull off my newly upgraded and indiscernible Face-Off Mask 2.0.

“Just a concerned citizen,” I say before knocking him unconscious.

Final Comments: I’m not sure if I was able to clearly convey that he was wearing two masks… This was definitely a fun one to imagine though!
