“Elephant Gunk”
Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!
Prompt: Elephant.
“Why is there an elephant in my room?!”
I poke my head around the corner to see Stacy staring into her bedroom, one hand on the doorframe and the other over her heart.
“What do you mean?” I ask, walking down the hall to join her. “Did Jon leave a stuffed elephant for you?”
I stop in front of her open doorway and my eyes practically bug out of my face. “Oh.”
“Yeah.” She takes a step back to stand beside me. “So you have no idea how it got in here?”
“Not a clue.”
The elephant suddenly lifts its trunk and snorts directly into our faces. Something wet and extremely disgusting lands on my forehead.
“EWWW!” Stacy whines.
I turn to see her covered in similar-looking gunk.
“Are we seriously covered in elephant snot right now?” I ask, screwing up my nose as I wipe my face with my sleeve.
Final Comments: I have no idea what happened in this one…
