Take Ten to Write

“Drifting”

Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!

Prompt: “Drifting.” — suggested by Lexi

Drifting alone
Across an endless sea
Waves crashing
Salt spraying

Drifting alone
Across a dark sky
Wind whistling
Branches waving

Drifting alone
Through a stormy night
Thunder crashing
Moon scowling

Drifting alone
Through a dried-up day
Sand crumbling
Sun smiling

Drifting alone
Toward something
That’s drifting alone
Toward something

Drifting together
Across a sea and sky
Through a night and day
Together

Final Comments: This felt like a poetic prompt. I have no idea how to write poetry, but I had fun trying!
