“Curious”

Prompt: Write a story titled “Curious”.

Life if curious, isn’t it? I mean, just the strangest things can happen in the blink of an eye.

Just think about it: time is constantly passing, and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it. Sure, we can change our clocks, but all that does is trick us into thinking that we somehow magically time travelled. Because in reality, time doesn’t stop or start. It just plods on, and will plod on, for all eternity.

And you know what else is curious? Meaning. We attach meaning to everything, and suddenly, everything either makes sense or becomes the most confusing thing ever.

For example, let’s look at a rock. To you, it’s just a rock. But to me, maybe it’s my pet rock named Pebble who’s been with me since I was two years old and is now my best friend. Now, if someone came and threw away that rock, you probably wouldn’t care. But I would be absolutely devastated. Now isn’t that curious?

There are so many curious things on this planet. No, not just our planet, but in our entire universe. Maybe there’s more universe beyond our universe! Isn’t that crazy to think about?! You might even say that it’s… curious.
