Prompt: Tape measure.
Prologue
It was Science class. The Science teacher, Maya, was cleaning up. She saved her work and closed their laptop. She put away the globe and the microscope. She put away the beakers and the books. She put away the pencils, the erasers and the rulers. She put the Science awards she had gotten away. But she left out the tape measure, forgetting to put it away.
The next class
The assignment for that day required the tape measure. “Where is the tape measure?” asked Ninja, a boy in the class. “I don’t know,” Maya said. “You’ll have to use the ruler instead.” When it came time to do something with the globe, it also required the tape measure. “Well I can’t dismiss my class early,” Maya said to herself. “Why don’t we do another activity, also with the globe?” Maya asked the class. “Sure, why not?” Ninja asked. “Okay, so where is America on the globe? That’s where we live.” Maya said. “There,” Ninja pointed. And class ran smoothly for the rest of the day.
