Take Ten to Write

“Chocolate Storm”

Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!

Write a story titled “Chocolate Storm”.

ATTENTION: Special weather statement.

A chocolate storm is approaching from the Northern coast of Lemonberry Isle. Expect at least twenty centimetres of chips over a twenty-four hour period.

The “Twisted Peppermint Thief” has been apprehended. He was found near Candy Apple Lane, preparing for what seemed like yet another heist. Luckily, officials caught the thief ‘mint-handed’ outside the suspected target property. The thief has been identified as Fig Burntaby, a resident of the nearby Orange Cake neighbourhood. He is now being held at the Milkville Penitentiary as he awaits his trial.

Now, I’ll pass you over to Gummdropp for a live update of the chocolate storm.

Thank you, Razzy.

A special weather statement was issued earlier this hour due to the rapidly approaching chocolate storm. New reports show that this storm has the potential to make history as having the largest volume of chocolate falling over a twenty-four hour period.

Currently, the wind is picking up and the very first chocolate chips are beginning to fall. This is going to be one nasty storm, so please make sure you stay indoors and only exit your home for emergencies. Officials are already working on blocking off potential flood zones and an after-storm plan is in the works.

We will now take a short commercial break. When we come back, we’ll continue our live update of the chocolate storm, as well as answer the question: “How much sugar is too much?”

Coming up after the break, on CCN.

Final Comments: I actually really enjoyed writing this one. I think I just like writing complete nonsense…
