“Beautiful”

Author’s Note: This is a Take Ten to Write story and has not been proofread for errors. If I feel inspired or if there’s interest in the story, I’ll post a revised, edited, and extended version at a later date. Happy reading!

Music prompt: “Between Worlds” by Roger Subirana

Beautiful.
Nature,
Going outside to see,
Running to feel the wind.

Wind.
Blowing through my hair,
Ruffling my shirt,
Carrying the sweet smell of the morning.

Morning.
Beautiful and warm,
Pastels on the horizon,
Mist and dew.

Dew.
Delicate drops of water,
Glistening on every surface,
Reflecting all life.

Life.
New and precious,
Blossoming and growing,
Joyful and bright.

Bright.
Sunlight shines through,
Warmth floods over me,
In the moment of stillness.

Stillness.
The forest at night,
Quiet rustles,
All asleep.

Asleep.
Peaceful dreams,
Create your own life,
Full of magic and the impossible.

Impossible.
Self barriers,
Push past,
Create something that’s yours.

Yours.
Your past,
Your present,
Your future.

Future.
Unlimited possibilities,
A whole world ahead,
Beauty beyond imagination.

Imagination.
Anything,
Everything,
All at once.

Once.
Upon a time,
Princesses and dragons,
Stories.

Stories.
Boundless,
Pure,
Beautiful.

Final Comments: I decided to really lean into the whole freewriting concept today and just wrote basically the first things that popped into my mind without paying attention to rhythm or general flow. It was actually really fun and interesting to see where it led me.
