“Has she started yet?”

I tap my foot impatiently. I’ve been waiting here for over an hour, and the line still doesn’t seem to be moving.

The man behind me peers over my shoulder. “Has she started yet?”

I shrug. “How should I know? We can see pretty much the exact same thing, you know.”

The man gives an overexaggerated sigh. I turn around, narrowing my eyes. “You got a problem with me, buddy?”

He arches an eyebrow. “No. Just with your attitude.”

I stare at the man with open disbelief. Did he really just say that to me?

“Now you’re just asking for trouble,” I growl, turning around fully to face him.

The man snorts. “Right. And just what are you going to do about it?”

I chuckle to myself. This guy is sure in for a surprise.

I move quickly, dropping to a crouch and grabbing the man’s legs out from under him. He falls hard on his back, all the air knocked from his body.

He begins yelling at me, swearing at the top of his lungs.

I stand back up and dust myself off as security comes running.

“What happened?” the first guard demands.

The man opens his mouth to speak, but I shoot him a warning glance. For once, he acts smartly. He closes his mouth.

“It’s nothing. I just tripped,” he says gruffly.

The guard looks at me. “Ma’am, is this true?”

I nod and smile sweetly back. “Yes, sir. I was just helping the poor man up.”

Final Comments: Uhh… cliffhanger…? Can I use that as an excuse for running out of time and ideas for how to continue…?
